SEAS GIVEN AS SIGNIFICANT WAVE HEIGHT, WHICH IS THE AVERAGE HEIGHT OF THE HIGHEST 1/3 OF THE WAVES. INDIVIDUAL WAVES MAY BE MORE THAN TWICE THE SIGNIFICANT WAVE HEIGHT.

SYNOPSIS FOR NEW ENGLAND WATERS... HURRICANE MARIA IS EXPECTED TO TRACK N AND THEN TURN E AND NE WHILE PASSING S OF THE AREA TONIGHT INTO THU NIGHT. S TO SE SWELL FROM HURRICANE MARIA WILL IMPACT THE AREA AT LEAST HROUGH FRI NIGHT. REFER TO THE LATEST NATIONAL HURRICANE CENTER ADVISORY FOR HURRICANE MARIA. OTHERWISE, A WEAK HIGH PRESSURE RIDGE EXTENDING EAST TO WEST ACROSS THE AREA WILL PERSIST TONIGHT AND TUE. A COLD FRONT WILL APPROACH FROM THE NW WED NIGHT, THEN PASS SE ACROSS THE REGION THU INTO THU NIGHT. A WEAK LOW PRESSURE AREA WILL PASS THROUGH THE WATERS FRI NIGHT INTO SAT. HIGH PRESSURE WILL BUILD OVER THE AREA SAT AND SAT NIGHT.
